However, the precautions to avoid being found fail and one night the protagonists are surprised. The punishment is separation, which will lead Raquel to Paris and Alejo to the Peruvian Amazon.
Carmina, Nana and Santiago will enter their lives in unexpected ways, many years later. These five characters will be related by a wedding dress, and each of them will narrate the story from their own perspective, although some of them will have to do it from death itself, as a ghost wandering through the Amazon.
