Paperback, Like New
The unhaggling, unhassling way to sell a book
No haggling, ever
We set the price by a fixed rule based on condition — not by how good a negotiator you are. Same book, same condition, same price, every time.
We pay the postage
Once it sells, a prepaid shipping label lands in your inbox. Print it, or show a QR code at the counter and let the clerk handle it.
Paid your way
Cash out via PayPal, or take it as store credit — and if you choose credit, we don't touch a cent of commission. More on that below.
Books stay in circulation
Every secondhand sale is a book that doesn't end up in a landfill or a warehouse queue. Old-fashioned reuse, modern logistics.
Search, don't type
Find the book you want to sell on Bookabaloo using our search. Press 'Sell My Copy'. We pull the title, author, and cover automatically — you just confirm the condition.
Not another faceless marketplace
Bookloop is run by Bookabaloo — the same indie bookstore that's spent years being loudly, proudly not Amazon.
From shelf to sold in five steps
Search for your book
Right in your phone's browser. No app, no filling in a massive form, just press 'Sell My Copy'.
Pick a condition
Like New or Well Loved. We calculate the price instantly — you don't have to worry about pricing anxiety.
It goes live
Your copy joins the Bookloop shelf, ready for someone to grab. We promote it on Google Shopping, it becomes part of our marketing.
Pack & post
Sold! We email a prepaid label. Any sturdy packaging works — even a padded envelope from the junk drawer or a plastic bag wrapped in tape.
Get paid
Once your buyer confirms it arrived, choose credit or cash.
Two conditions. Zero ambiguity.
We keep grading dead simple on purpose — two tiers, clearly defined, so there's no back-and-forth about whether your book is "good" or "very good." If it's torn, water-damaged, or missing pages, it doesn't get listed at all.
Like New
Flawless
No visible damage, marking, or wear. Basically indistinguishable from a book that just came off the shelf.
of current retail price
Well Loved
Read, not ruined
Worn cover, a mark or two, maybe a previous owner's name inside — but no tears, no water damage, no missing pages.
of current retail price
Exactly how much you'll earn
Your sale price is always the book's current retail price × the condition percentage above. What you take home depends only on how you get paid:
- Store credit: you get 100% of the sale price. No commission, no fees, ever.
- Cash via PayPal: you get the sale price minus a 20% commission, minus the actual card processing cost (~3%), minus a small PayPal transfer fee. We only pass on what it really costs us — nothing extra.
Cash figures are approximate and vary slightly with the actual card processing cost per sale.
commission
Sell it. Spend it. Keep every cent.
Right now, every seller who takes their earnings as Bookabaloo store credit pays zero commission — not 20%, not 5%, nothing. Sell a $8.50 paperback in Like New condition, get $8.50 in credit toward your next order. That's the whole deal.

I don't have a printer. Now what?
No problem — show the QR code version of your shipping label on your phone at any post office counter and they'll print and attach it for you.
What can't I sell?
Anything torn, water-damaged, moldy, or missing pages. If you're not sure whether your copy qualifies as Well Loved, the scan-and-list flow will walk you through it.
Is cash-out really only through PayPal?
For now, yes — it keeps things simple and keeps our fees (and yours) as low as possible. Store credit works instantly, no PayPal account needed.
How fast do I need to ship?
Within 48 hours of a sale. Life happens, but a small daily fee applies if it runs later than that — full details are in the seller terms.
Your bookshelf has a second job now.
Grab the nearest book you're never going to reread, scan the barcode, and see what it's worth. Takes less time than deciding whether to reread it.
