It is with a great deal of excitement that we are announcing Libro.FM to be our official audiobook delivery partner. Offering an audiobook service was always part of our long term goals and we have spent many hours and days searching and analysing the various offerings available before deciding on Libro.FM.
We couldn't in good conscience choose Audible to partner with for audiobooks; they might be the biggest and most popular but the affiliation with Amazon was too much for us to accept. We need less Amazon in the world and more interesting small independent stores, Libro.FM fits that model.
Who is Libro.FM?
Libro.fm began as a conversation among friends at Third Place Books, a local bookshop in Seattle, Washington, about the growing popularity of audiobooks and the lack of a way for readers to purchase them from independent bookshops.
Flash forward, and Libro.fm was founded in 2014. The team then spent nearly two years speaking with booksellers about their needs and suggestions, while also building a catalog of audiobooks and developing the Libro.FM platform.
Libro.fm encourages more people to read while supporting independent bookshops.
